About

Hi there. I’m Amy.  Jesus follower, wife, mom. (Those are my favorite people in the picture there.) Sister, daughter, friend.

I love music, reading, crafting, and laughter shared with friends.  My heart feels at home in deep conversations about justice and equality—and it’s equally filled by the shenanigans I share with the spunky teenagers in my church youth group. I’m a coffee gulper and a popcorn muncher, and so much more.

But really, the thread that runs through it all? I’m just another girl saved by God’s amazing grace.

I didn’t always “get” that grace, though.  I spent far too many years trying to live out an impossible set of expectations.  I thought I could be Super Christian Woman. Always capable. Always strong. Always helping others. Always moving forward with confidence.

I failed.

Many a time, God has whispered to me “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness “(2 Cor. 12:9a).  And that message is finally sinking in. I’m learning to breathe instead of living in overdrive. To accept my brokenness and admit that I don’t have it all together.

I love the look of relief that washes across another person’s face when they realize they don’t have to keep up the facade for my sake.  I hope that’s what you’ll feel as you read the words you find in this space.

At the end of the day, I don’t have a shiny, new message or some surefire way to live the perfect Christian life—you’ll have to find another blog if you’re looking for that.  I just have myself. My story. My passions and dreams. And my connection to a Story that’s far older and bigger than me: the story of God’s amazing grace.

God’s been so kind to me in my places of uncertainty, weakness, and fear.  I hope for His grace to fall gently into your own tender places. I’m praying that right there—in your most fractured, fearful spaces—you’ll know how deeply He loves you.  And that your story, too, will look more like grace.

“My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God’s grace for you. Stand firm in this grace.” – 1 Peter 5: 12
